Plant tissue culture represents the most promising areas of application at present time and giving an out look into the future. My focus areas ranges from micropropagation of rare, endangered and threatened plants of the Himalayan region as well as economically and nutritionally important plants of cold regions. In addition, I am developing in vitro systems for rapid mass propagation of high quality, disease free and uniform planting material with focus on cost effective practices.

Current Focus:

Asafoetida, Saffron, Nardostachys, Bamboo, Potato, Picrorhiza, Tea, Monk fruit and apple.

Training of graduates, post-graduates, farmers, agriculture officers and entrepeuners in plant tissue culture.
